flying to Saint Vincent Les Forts

Rules of operation for the St Vincent les forts site

Practicing paragliding at the Saint-Vincent-Les-Forts site offers the opportunity to fly in an exceptional setting. Amateur pilots can enjoy flying thanks to the town hall’s provision of suitable facilities. The professional organization Les Ailes du Lac has been delegated the management and organization of these facilities to ensure everyone can enjoy flying in a welcoming environment.

Parking and use of parking lots

Several parking spaces are available for visitors and paragliders. A parking area for vehicles under 2m is located between the wing preparation area and the children’s playground. A parking area for larger vehicles is situated alongside the car park and the children’s playground.

Please note: parking campervans or converted vans overnight is prohibited in the village. This prohibition is regulated by a municipal bylaw. Tent camping on the site is also prohibited.

Campsites are available near the site.

Amenities

Restrooms are available in the parking lot. Another restroom is located further along towards the village, next to the small parking area behind the launch hill.

Secure bicycle lockers are located in the corner of the parking lot, next to the accessible parking area.

An accessible path to the panoramic viewpoint leads from the corner of the regular car park and, of course, from the accessible parking area.

Solar panels for charging your small devices are available.

During the summer season, a food truck, “La Charette de Charlotte,” offers snacks and cold drinks. You’ll find a variety of homemade smoothies and local beverages. A restaurant is located at the entrance to the village for more traditional dining.

A long rope is in place from April to October to mark designated areas for pilots and visitors, preventing conflicts between users. In short, we want to avoid any collisions between a visitor and a paraglider taking off or landing.

Information panels

Information panels are available to help you learn about the site’s features.

One panel indicates safe flying areas and dangerous flying areas. You will also find instructions on how to land safely on the takeoff area.

Another panel describes the weather conditions under different wind patterns.

Finally, a third panel provides information about landing near the lake.

Caution: When the lake level is between 774m and 780m, it is imperative to land on the official landing zone, which is narrow and completely surrounded by water. This requires a planned and executed approach. Below 774m, it is possible to land on the lake shore.

Prepare your equipment in the designated area between the landing zone, the road, the parking lot, and the Ailes du Lac chalet. Please do not prepare your equipment in the area behind the chalet.
